We would like to reclaim the FAVC crown, led by a pair of seniors. Here are the NHS Lady Harriers:
Michelle Geiger Sr.
Our team leader on and off the course. Michelle became league champion as a Freshman in a close, gutsy battle down the final straightaway. Her Sophomore year she defended that title on a tougher course, the closest competitor was her own team mate. Michelle is now our fastest Sophomore girl of this century. As a junior Michelle pulled off a ThreePeat, and the boys carried her to receive her third League Championship and Runner of the Year awards. She has her sights set on breaking 20 minutes, qualifying for State, and, most importantly, defending her league title, where she will be challenged by a couple of girls. Michelle played select soccer in the spring, but still
repeated her second place finish in the 2009 FAVC 1600.
Toria Alsip Sr.
The last in a line of three Alsips that have run XC for NHS. A very determined competitor when she gets fired up! An integral part of 2006's league champion team in XC and 2007's Track title (she won the 3200), she is our only returning athlete to score in both of those meets. Toria placed 4th in last year's FAVC, winning first team honors to go with her 12th and 8th places previously. Her goal is to repeat that, win the team title, and qualify for Regionals.
Holly Schneider Soph.
One of our big finds last year as a Freshman, Holly improved by almost 3 minutes in a two week period. In our first meet this year she seemed to pick up right where she left off. In track she showed a bit of speed, running a lot of 400s and 800s for us. She is the girls leader during the week day practices, and will be a key performer if we are to even threaten for the FAVC title.
Natalie Geiger Fr.
Natalie enters HS as the reigning FAVC Scarlet Middle School Champ, she also had an excellent track season as an eighth grader, and ran some good times in the Loveland Summer XC series. Natalie is the third and final installment in the Geiger family of runners at NHS. She should be competitive in most meets we go to, and should give us another high placer in the FAVCs. She also plays futbol, so we don't see much of her during the week, sadly.
HELP We need at lest ONE MORE GIRL to compete as a team. HELP
